Foods To Improve Your Quality Of Life

  • Foods To Improve Your Quality Of Life

Life quality is very important for every individual in this modern era- life expectancy is decreasing day by day and it is becoming a serious concern. Our ancestors used to live longer, healthier lives, but now we see a huge decline in overall health and wellness. This is due to factors such as pollution, lifestyle and global warming. A very crucial aspect of improving the quality of life is by controlling the way one consumes food- the better food you eat the better you get. Owing to the pandemic, people are becoming more concerned and conscious towards health. And a clear shift in eating habits have been observed as people have moved towards including whole grain foods to their diet which helps their intake of protein, carbohydrates and the fiber.

One of the main reasons why people fail to eat healthy food is because of not calculating the amount of macronutrients they are consuming on a daily basis. The condition of eating more than the required amount in a diet is known as calorie surplus. The condition in which people will eat less than the required amount in a diet is known as calorie deficit. In order to maintain a balanced diet- the surplus consumers should start maintaining their calories in deficit and the people who are in deficit should start eating in surplus. If these are followed one can maintain a balanced diet.

Three really important food items should be included in everyone's diet in order to complement their healthy life are nuts, seeds and berries. These three are very essential foods that are required for a true balanced diet. Nuts such as Almonds, Walnuts, macadamia nuts etc., are nutrition rich foods that provide the body with the majority of the vitamins and minerals it demands. They're one of the main sources of ALA omega-3 fatty acids, which can help with everything from rheumatoid arthritis to Alzheimer's and dementia prevention.

Berries are high in antioxidants and are one of the healthiest foods you can eat. They're high in fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants while being low in calories. Many berries such as Cranberries, Blueberries, Goji berries etc., have been linked to improved cardiovascular health. Low cholesterol and blood pressure, and also oxidative stress, are among them. Seeds such as Pumpkin seeds, Sunflower seeds, chia seeds etc., contain a lot of fiber. They're also high in polyunsaturated fats and monounsaturated fats, as well as various types of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Seeds can help lower blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure when ingested as part of a healthy diet.

These three foods should always be incorporated in one’s diet. Not only food but making healthy changes to lifestyle can also improve the quality of life. Start getting more sleep, exercise regularly, stay dehydrated and always remember to be happy.
