Healthy Snacks For Kids

  • Healthy Snacks For Kids

We know kids can be fussy and picky eaters. They’d have their eye-pop, shoes-stop, and jaw-drop at a snack store and can throw a fit for that one packet of unhealthy chips as if their life depended on it. Sooner or later, they become the decision-maker for what they eat. Unhealthy snacks can easily become an addiction, especially when it comes easy. 3 to 4 decades ago, the value for one chocolate or a packet of chips was so precious that kids back then would savour every bite since these unhealthy snacks were a once in a blue moon purchase. The increase of ease and convenience for kids to purchase these products and become decision-makers will come with a downfall. Daily consumption of these products can lead to early health conditions. This is a message for you to switch your child’s diet to these mentioned healthy snacks that can help their growth, immunity, and overall health.

  1. Fruit Smoothie - Fruit smoothies can be easily packed for on-the-go trips to school or the park. They are extremely nutritional and good for health. It is also a nice way to blend in fruits your child is usually fussy with and trick them into getting the benefits from all the fruits.
  2. Trail mix - It consists of dried fruits and a bunch of nuts. It may not sound super fun, but it is very good for immunity, hair, skin, and is also high in protein. You can sprinkle the trail mix over other snacks and meals. It is also a great addition to homemade cookies.
  3. Chocolate Granola - Yet another way to sneak in some health into your child’s meal. Granola is oatmeal with nuts and dried fruits. But, what will make them love this is the chocolate part of it. The chocolate for their satisfaction, the oatmeal for yours. It's perfect!
  4. Avocado Sandwich - Stuffed with yummy avocados, tomatoes and maybe add a little cheese if they like, this sandwich is delightful in any shape and form. The process of extracting the avocado will be one fun activity that can get your kid more interested in food, or maybe just this sandwich. Avocados are a great source of vitamin B6, E, K, and C A veggie Wrap - Much like shawarma, but stuffed with veggies that blend into the hummus.
  5. A veggie wrap is a nice way to trick them into eating more veggies. Start by adding vegetables they aren't a fan of in very tiny bits, add hummus and garlic sauce to top it all off. A very healthy lunch!
  6. Chocolate Pancake - Who doesn't love pancakes? Although it is looked at as a breakfast item, it can very well be a nice evening snack. It is super easy to make and vegan pancakes are also a viable option for people who don't consume dairy products. Find a pancake mix that does not have refined maida or baking powder/soda, and that's one more meal added to your child’s snack list. The chocolate flavour will keep them coming back for more.

It will be a task to make healthy snacks for kids and have them consume it. But these snacks will be perfect for kids to take to school, to the playground, to after-school activities or tuitions. It will keep them active, energetic, high on immunity, and most importantly, healthy.
