How to Get Rid of Heartburn

  • How to Get Rid of Heartburn

If you have heartburn, you feel the following sensations: a slight hiccup followed by a burning sensation in your chest and throat. Heartburn can be caused by the foods you eat, especially if they are spicy, acidic or involve fats. Heartburn, whatever the cause, is unpleasant and inconvenient. But the question arises, what to do if you have heartburn? Here are a few natural and quick ways to relieve that burning sensation.

  • Aloe Juice - Most grocery stores sell aloe juice. Aloe juice can help soothe irritation caused by acid reflux, similar to how aloe vera helps in soothing sunburned skin. If you suffer from heartburn, it's a good idea to drink ½ cup of aloe juice before meals to keep your stomach and oesophagus soothed.
  • Apple Cider Vinegar - Surprisingly, everyone's favourite remedy can help alleviate heartburn. 3- teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in a cup of water, then drink (warning: it won't taste good) before each meal or at bedtime.
  • Baking Soda - Baking soda is cheap and completely natural. Mix a tablespoon of baking soda with a cup of water. Baking soda will help to neutralize the acid. Baking soda contains sodium; if you're on a low-sodium diet, consult your doctor.
  • Sugar-free gum - Gum helps to produce saliva. Saliva dilutes acids, so if you increase the amount of saliva produced after a meal, it can help to prevent acid production. Chew a stick of gum for 30 minutes to relieve heartburn.
  • Banana- Did you know bananas have natural antacids? To help with acid reflux, start eating a banana every day. If you don't have a banana on hand, an apple will suffice.
  • Ginger- ginger has been used as a folk remedy for heartburn due to its availability. Ginger helps relieve nausea, so some people think that it works well for heartburn as well. Consider incorporating grated or diced ginger root into your favourite stir-fry, soup, and other dishes. You can also use steep raw ginger root, dried ginger root, or ginger tea bags in boiling water to make ginger tea.
  • Changes in Lifestyle- If you're overweight, making small dietary changes and increasing physical activity can help relieve heartburn. Experiment with avoiding foods that cause heartburn, such as fatty or spicy foods, caffeine, chocolate, or carbonated beverages, to name a few. By removing these from your diet, you may be able to eliminate the problem.

These simple ways will help your heart to stay healthy. A better heart and better health make you enjoy life in a better way. If you still feel heart burns even after all the natural tips, kindly visit a doctor or a specialist.
